April 9, 2009Mamut’s future still in doubt
Mystery still surrounds the future of software company Mamut after the business failed to meet a self-imposed deadline to reveal whether it could be sold.
The company announced in February its negotiations with third parties would be concluded by the end of March but Mamut has extended the deadline into the foreseeable future.
Following interest in potentially buying Mamut, a spokesman said it started a strategic process towards the end of last year. He added: 'The company expected that the strategic process will be concluded in March 2009. The process has taken more time than earlier anticipated. The board is now in the final phase of discussions with multiple parties.'
Mamut appointed financial advisers ABG Sundal Collier ASA and mergers and acquisition specialists Jefferies International in the last quarter of 2008.
